The pattern of cough affects the course of respiratory diseases. To relieve cough, a nurse may use various methods, such as pharmacotherapy, exercise therapy (kinesitherapy), postural drainage (position drainage), massage, etc. The effect is increased by a combination of drainage positions with manual chest compression on expiration and massage.
