The basic trends in the course of childhood ulcerative disease, which are based on the results of a follow-up analysis of 2000 case histories, are described. The age-, gender-specific and clinical and endoscopic features of an ulcerative process in children, its association with genetic predisposition and Helicobacter pylori infection are analyzed.
