The paper deals with the issue of nutritional support in age-related and situational depression. It gives data to support taurine as an important dietary component with pleiotropic effects, which can be also used successfully in age-related and situational depression. Guarana (Paullina cupana) is considered from the use standpoint for the manufacture of drugs and biologically active additives, which contribute to the improvement of cognitive abilities.
