The paper presents data on the need for early recognition and treatment of postpartum depression, which predetermine a strong mutually beneficial relationship between parents and children. Timely screening and rapid detection and treatment of depression are essential for the well-being of the mother and her infant and for improvement of the results of neonatal nursing.
