European cardiologists have proposed a new scale for assessing "cardiovascular risk"

The European Society of Cardiology, with the participation of the European Association of Preventive Cardiology, presented a new version of clinical recommendations for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases. The key point of the presented version of the recommendations is a new system for assessing the risk of cardiovascular diseases in practically healthy individuals who do not have documented cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus, chronic kidney disease or familial hypercholesterolemia. To assess the "cardiovascular risk", European cardiologists suggest using the SCORE2 scale and its separate version for the elderly SCORE2-OP.
