Bronchial asthma is a common and potentially dangerous chronic disease that is a burden for patients, their families and society and affects all age groups. It is common in many countries, especially among children. At least 300 million patients worldwide suffer from AD. The prevalence of AD in the world varies between 1–18%. The prevalence of AD among adults is 6.9%, and among children and adolescents – about 10%. Every year, about 250,000 deaths due to asthma are registered in the world. It causes respiratory system disorders, disability and seizures, which sometimes require urgent medical attention and can be fatal. The article tells about the main support points for nurses and other health workers who face this disease.
