The article reflects the results of an online survey from members of the Internet communities of mothers and patients of the neonatology department of the State Budgetary Healthcare Institution “DGKB im. PER. Bashlyaeva DZM “. Those with primary experience of breastfeeding: 78% of them are women over 30 years old, with higher education, mainly after natural childbirth. Most women are motivated to breastfeed for more than 1 year (73%), while 43% of women did not receive information about breastfeeding techniques, possible difficulties and methods of overcoming them in medical organizations. The overwhelming majority of respondents (92%) faced difficulties in breastfeeding (difficulties in the technique of attachment to the breast, cracks, lactostasis, mastitis) and received help only from private practice breastfeeding consultants. The most vulnerable group of children in terms of preserving breastfeeding is premature babies, who are not immediately applied to the breast in the delivery room, and the issues of preserving breastfeeding for the mothers of such children are especially acute. Conclusion-proposal: it is necessary to train the personnel of medical organizations in practical issues of breastfeeding support in order to overcome difficulties for nursing mothers and maintain long-term breastfeeding as a guarantee of the health of the younger generation.
