Положительная роль ожирения

Хорошо известно устоявшееся представление о том, что ведущим фактором в развитии значительного числа соматических заболеваний и связанных с этим проблем возникает именно у пациентов, страдающих ожирением. Логично ожидать тяжелого течения заболеваний и неблагоприятного общемедицинского прогноза у людей с ожирением, но в последние годы появились сенсационные научные публикации, в которых опровергается устоявшееся мнение клиницистов и патофизиологов об однозначно неблагоприятном влиянии ожирения на состояние здоровья человека. Этот странный факт получил название «парадокс ожирения» и считается эпидемиологическим открытием.
