From 1992 to 1997, she was an assistant at the Department of General Medical Practice at the MAPO, headed by Professor Yuri Mikhailovich Gubachev.

From 1997 to 2019, assistant professor at the Department of Therapy and Clinical Pharmacology of the I.I. Mechnikov Northwestern State Medical University, headed by Professor Vladimir I. Simanenkov.

From 2019 to the present time, assistant professor of the 2nd Department (therapy for advanced training of doctors) of the S.M. Kirov Higher Medical Academy, headed by Professor Vladimir Borisovich Grinevich.

V.V. Makienko actively participates in the organization and conduct of scientific and practical and educational events, accredited by the Committee for Scientific and Practical Practices under the Russian Ministry of Health, for practicing therapists, psychotherapists and related specialties.
